Employing artificial intelligence applications and their relationship to knowledge management processes in e-learning in Saudi universities
Abstract
The study aimed to identify the applications of artificial intelligence in Saudi universities, and the level of application of knowledge management processes, and to reveal the relationship between them. The study followed the correlative descriptive approach ,The study population consisted of (9,000) faculty members in Saudi universities (Tabuk, Taiba, Umm Al-Qura, King Abdulaziz, Petroleum and Minerals, Najran), (108) were selected as a sample for the study, they were chosen by simple random method. The questionnaire was distributed to them, which consisted of (27) phrases distributed on two axes, the first to measure the applications of artificial intelligence and the second to measure the applications of knowledge management (Diagnosis, acquisition, generation, sharing, storage and application(,The results show that the arithmetic mean value of artificial intelligence applications (3.42) and the most important applications of artificial intelligence in e-learning are scheduling academic programs in distributing courses to faculty members, and evaluating academic integrity through intelligent detection of alienation. In research, in the university teaching process through virtual reality technology (smart content and smart conversation), the application of virtual classrooms in the teaching process. While the least applications were: adaptive learning applications and expert systems in university teaching, providing smart chatbots, activating smart academic guidance and counseling, evaluating teaching and faculty member processes, and monitoring exams remotely. It was also found that the level of knowledge management application is (4,06) with a degree High, and it appeared for knowledge management processes with a high degree in order (storage, application, acquisition, diagnosis, sharing, and generation),The results show that there is a statistically significant correlation at the level of significance (0.05) between knowledge management processes and artificial intelligence applications. The correlation value reached (0.65), which is a medium relationship, and the correlations with knowledge management processes ranged from (0.61-0.73), Based on the results, the most prominent recommendations were: working on developing plans to activate artificial intelligence applications, adaptive learning applications and expert systems in university teaching, activating smart academic guidance and counseling, smart assessment purposes, and encouraging the largest number of university employees to participate in administrative and organizational knowledge processes in universities. Establishing procedures for the flow and sharing of knowledge.
