Attitudes of Parents of Students with Learning Difficulties Towards Resource Rooms in Qabatiya District – Palestine
Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the attitudes of parents of students with learning disabilities towards the resource room as one of the alternatives to inclusion in governmental schools affiliated with the Ministry of Education - Qabatiya District. The sample of the study consisted of 140 parents with learning disabilities distributed over (18) schools. A questionnaire was developed to evaluate the parents‟ attitudes which consisted of (48) items. Results showed that parents of students with learning disabilities were holding positive attitudes towards resource room. No statistically significant differences were found in the parent’s attitudes that could be attributed to the variables of parent's relationship with the student, the academic level, age and gender of parents. While there are statistically significant differences found in the parent’s attitudes that could be attributed to the variable of number of years of enrollment in the resource room.
