Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the impact of information ethics on enhancing the job performance of employees at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, based on employees' perspectives. It also sought to assess the extent of applying the dimensions of information ethics within the ministry from the viewpoint of the study sample. The study adopted an analytical descriptive approach to examine the current situation, utilizing a questionnaire as a data collection tool. The study population included all employees of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah for the year 2024. The sample size comprised 87 employees, selected through simple random sampling, ensuring the generalizability of the results to the entire population. Results indicated a significant and positive impact of information ethics on employees' job performance. Furthermore, the study found a statistically significant effect of various dimensions of information ethics (privacy, accuracy, responsibility, and compliance with laws) on enhancing job performance. Based on these findings, the study recommended implementing training programs to raise awareness among employees about the importance of ethics in information usage, including training on protecting information privacy and complying with laws. Additionally, it suggested that senior management adopt clear policies to promote ethical compliance and encourage outstanding job performance, with the possibility of providing rewards or recognition to employees who demonstrate commitment to ethical values and excel in their performance.
