Abstract

The aim of the current study was to review the literature from 1997 to 2022 that addressed the relationship between the role of individuals in the integrative relationship between the elements and processes of knowledge management. The study yielded several results, the most important of which are: knowledge management cannot be achieved without interaction and integration among its elements and processes. Previous studies emphasized the importance of human capital (individuals) in achieving knowledge management processes. While technology plays a role in storing and disseminating knowledge, it cannot be done without individuals. Any specific processes or procedures related to the implementation of knowledge management require the involvement of individuals, as they are the main element in this task and play a crucial role in achieving integration and interaction among the elements and processes of knowledge management. From the literature review, it was confirmed that all studies emphasized the importance of integration among the elements and processes and highlighted the significant role of individuals in achieving this interaction and integration. The study also aimed to fill the gap in studies that have addressed the topic of the current study.
