The Role of Management Information Systems in Improving Modern Management Outcomes: An Applied Study on Female Employees of King Abdul-Aziz University

Abstract


The study aims to identify the level of efficiency of management information systems in improving management outcomes at King Abdul-Aziz University , female section, as well as identifying  the availability of the requirements for implementing management information systems. It used the descriptive analytical method and a questionnaire as a tool for data collection. The construct validity of the questionnaire was validated using Cronbach's alpha coefficients scale to measure the level of internal consistency. The study tool (electronic questionnaire) was distributed to a purposive sample of deanship employees represented in (Deanship of Admission and Registration, Deanship of Postgraduate Studies and Deanship of Distance Education), who numbered (80). Statistical packages for the social sciences (SPSS) were used to analyze the collected data. The study found a strong direct relationship between the availability of management information systems administration and operation requirements and the role of management information systems in improving job performance, which indicates a strong direct relationship between the role of management information systems in improving job performance and the availability of management information systems administration and operation requirements. The study recommended the following:

  • Conducting a similar study to the current one on another Saudi university.
  • Conducting comparative studies of the efficiency level of management information systems in improving management outcomes among other Saudi universities.
  • Raising the degree of availability of human and technical supplies in the management information system at King Abdul-Aziz University - female section.
  • Involving the female employees of the deanships represented by the current study in the process of developing the used management information system due to their high degree of awareness and approval of the system’s efficiency and benefiting from their personal experiences.
