The role of risk management and its impact on the success of King Abdulaziz University projects

Abstract


This study aims to identify the factors affecting the success or failure of King Abdulaziz University projects and the extent of the university's application to risk management and measure the impact of this application on the success of its projects, and the importance of the study lies in the extent of the importance and impact of risk management on the success of university projects, and what it requires from research in the causes of stumbling And work to avoid obstacles and factors affecting the implementation of projects, and the researcher used in this study the descriptive approach being the most appropriate to the subject of the study, and the study sample numbered (50) employees consisted of engineers, technicians and administrators from different administrative, middle, and executive levels and subordinates, and the most prominent results were In the study: the need to pay attention to the presence of risk management in order to follow up on university projects and reduce their stumbling or failure, interest in the presence of consultants through supervisory offices to supervise the implementation of projects, and interest in applying an electronic system to implement projects at the specified time.

The study recommends several recommendations, including: The necessity of establishing a PMO to take charge of project implementation, prepare a training program for project personnel that qualifies them to obtain a professional project management certificate and interest in applying the principle of risk management in all projects.
