ACCEPTANCE OF E-PAYMENT IN THE KSA

Abstract


This study aims to obtain a better understanding of the acceptance of epaymentin KSA. The obstacles to the adoption of the e-payment system in KSA and theadvancement of e-payment systems are discussed. A theoretical framework is used for thestudy. Using empirical analysis, factors influencing the evolution of e-payment and therole of e-payment in KSA are analysed.A deductive approach is used for this study. Data are collected from both primary andsecondary sources, and a hypothesis is proposed. A literature review is conducted toexamine the topics of e-commerce, e-payments, e-commerce in the economicdevelopment of Saudi Arabia, adoption of e-payment in Saudi Arabia, and customer trustin e-payment. 300 questionnaires are distributed to internet users who have consideredusing online payment during their purchases. The study showed that the acceptance of epaymentin KSA is promoted and that customers have started accepting it. Through dataanalysis, the researcher found that e-payment is an easy way to do transactions.Customers believe that online payments are safe and authentic. E-payment usage has alsoincreased n response to instances of purse snatchings and robberies. Because of thebenefits and efficient outcomes of e-payment, it is considered the best alternative to cashpayment by customers.
