INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE FOR ARABIC SPORTS WEBSITES: A CASE STUDY ON KOOORA WEBSITE

Abstract


Today, the sports press is witnessing major changes and challenges. Most of the readers interested in the field of sports have turned to sports websites, Which has become saturating their information needs, News, instant material, video clips, and the data that synchronized with the sports events.

From here, The need arises to study information architecture in Arabic sports websites, to identify navigation systems, display and organize of information in their pages, thus linking sports users with services and content and facilitating their task in accessing the information required.

This study deals with aspects of information architecture within Kooora.com, which is a suitable model for this study among all the Arabic sports websites, using the Case Study approach to identify the application of information architecture systems in the information structure of the website.

The results of the study reached that there is a plan to classify and organize information, and that there is a logical relationship between information elements within the website. The study also confirmed the adoption of Kooora.com on embedded navigation systems, including the Global Navigation System, which was found by the study to be the most suitable for the information structure of Kooora.com.
