The Role of Knowledge Localization in the Development of Intellectual Capital in the Saudi Space Sector: An Applied Study

Abstract

This study aimed to know the role of knowledge localization in the development of intellectual capital in the Saudi space sector, by investigating the reality of knowledge localization in the space sector, and exploring the challenges and opportunities related to knowledge localization in this sector, and the study relied on the descriptive-analytical method, and the questionnaire was used to collect data from an intentional sample of workers in the Saudi space sector, and the documentary method was used, which is based on the analysis of the literature and relevant scientific sources, and to extract accurate scientific results that contribute to the Building an integrated perception of the relationship between knowledge localization and intellectual capital development, the study concluded that there is a clear institutional awareness of the importance of knowledge localization, and an endeavor by entities working in the sector to reduce reliance on foreign expertise and enhance the participation of national competencies in the technical, operational and academic fields. She added that the development of human capital through investment in continuous training and the attraction of specialized competencies is a key factor in supporting the localization of knowledge. And it highlighted the importance of strengthening structural capital by building unified knowledge systems, and strengthening relationship capital through research partnerships locally and internationally. In light of the results, the study recommended the need to intensify research efforts to expand the scope of studies aimed at exploring the role of localization and knowledge transfer in promoting intellectual capital.
