Relationship between Teachers' Specialization Orientation and the Results of National Tests (Nafes) in Government Primary Schools in General Administration of Education in Jeddah Governorate
Abstract
This study aimed to identify the relationship between teachers' specialty orientation and the results of the national tests (NAFES) among primary school students in governmental schools at the General Administration of Education in Jeddah Governorate. The descriptive analytical approach was applied to achieve the study objectives. The data collected through the Noor educational system and the Tamyiz digital platform were analyzed. The study sample consisted of (422) male and female primary schools in the General Administration of Education in Jeddah Governorate, representing the schools applying the national tests (NAFES) during the academic year 1445 AH. The study aimed to identify the levels of students' results in the main areas of the three subjects: reading, mathematics, and science. The importance of this study lies in addressing one of the aspects related to the results of the national tests (NAFES), which is related to the performance levels of primary school students, and to suggest appropriate solutions for improving the level of academic achievement. The results included that the lack of teachers according to the specialty orientation was largely concentrated in early childhood schools. Moreover, it wasn’t considered a major reason for the low performance levels of primary school students in the national tests (NAFES). The availability of teachers according to the specialty orientation wasn’t considered a major reason for the high level of student performance, which can be attributed to several other factors and reasons not included in the scope of the current study. In addition, the results showed that the ratio of schools with teachers according to the specialty orientation ranged from 76% to 100%, compared to the rate of unavailability of teachers according to another specialty orientation in the same school. The results also showed that student levels were in large percentages at the very low performance level and then the low performance level compared to other levels.
