ETHICAL ISSUES IN BUSINESS: A DEFINITIONAL APPROACH
Ahmad Khan, MuinudDin
In this short article we have tried to focus attention on the Western concept of business vis-a-vis the Eastern concept of byabasa (e emv) Karbar, Sawdagari and bayah. From a definitional point of view business exhibits a unilateral or one-sided meaning and connotation tending to concentrating attention on the process of investment of the capital and gaining profit while engages in the process of buying and selling. On the other hand, all the Eastern terminologies imply a dualistic or twofold meaning of buying and selling connecting in the transaction thereby the interest of both sides of the seller and the consumer, leading to paying due attention to the welfare of both. The Western concept of business is thus individualistic and solely profit-oriented, whereas in the Eastern concept of business transaction, there is an element of ethics and socialization, which is, absent in the Western business transaction. Moreover the morality reflected in the business transactions of the East, springs from the divinely ordained imperative of what man ought to do, distinguishing it from the Western concept of economic cycle.

ETHICS IN HEALTH SERVICES: EXPERIENCE IN BANGLADESH
Rahman, Md Shafiqur
Some set written and unwritten codes of ethics that exert social control in private and public sector health services of Bangladesh as experienced by the authors have been narrated in this article. Authors consider that greater consideration to ethical issues should be borne in mind by health professionals and their associates. Further, that all adults working in any sphere of life cross-culturally should pause a while to consider whether the job they are going to undertake is ethical or not.

ENLIVEN PATIENT ASSISTANT PROJECT: AN INITIATIVE OF CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AMONG THE BLOOD CANCER PATIENTS IN BANGLADESH
Zakirul Karim, Mohammad
ORION Laboratories Limited, One of the leading Bangladeshi Pharmaceutical company takes initiative to practice Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in their corporate values and accordingly, established a project called Enliven Patient Assistant Program (EPAP) to support CML type of blood cancer patients in Bangladesh. A total number of 21 patients were included in the project for the year 2005 and this ongoing project is very encouraging to form a cancer foundation for the company. Now, this project is running three (3) years with fifty five (55) patients from 2005 to till now (2007). The gender ratio of the total patients is Male: Female=41:14. Maximum number of patients is within the age group of 40-44 (20%) years, followed by that of 30-34 (18.2%) years and 45+ (18.2%) years. Regarding the religious factor of the patients, majorities are Muslim 85% and the others religion are distributed as Hindu 13% and Buddhism 2%. The occupational pattern shows that 45.5% are service holder. The project reflects one of the landmark for practicing the corporate social responsibility in Bangladesh Pharmaceutical industry.

ANTI-COMPETITIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES AND THE NEED FOR A COMPREHENSIVE COMPETITION LAW IN BANGLADESH
Shamim Faisal, A K. M.
Widespread anti-competitive business practices, including hoarding and restrictive supply of essential commodities, collusive price-fixing, abusive monopoly, etc hurt consumer interests, hamper orderly market growth, and retard overall economic development in Bangladesh. But there is no competition policy or legal framework in the country to prevent such malpractices. Pro-competition economic policies coupled with a competition law can help a country in promoting a competitive market economy. Competition legislation is an effective tool against collusive cartels, unscrupulous market dominance and monopoly, unfair mergers and acquisitions, and other anti-competitive business practices. Many developing nations, including neighbouring India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka have well-structured competition regimes. Bangladesh should urgently consider enacting a comprehensive competition law. The Government, civil societies, consumer organizations, and other concerned stakeholders should come forward in this regard.

TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT (TQM) IN ISLAM AND THE WEST: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS
Mohammad Nasrullah, Amir
Management plays an important role in the efficient performance of an organization. Many resource-poor countries in the world enjoy a high degree of development because of their efficient and quality management in their resource allocation, production, marketing and distribution, among other things. On the other hand many resource-rich countries suffer from under-development and poverty due to the inefficiency of management among other things. So efficient management is necessary for the development of any organization as well as any country. Efficiency in modern management is measured in terms of productivity that is considered as an engineering relationship between input and output. Here the emphasis is on quantity rather than quality. But in Islam quality is more important than quantity. It does not imply that quantity does not considered or counted. Here quantity counts if it passes the criterion of quality. On the other hand Total Quality Management (TQM) emphasizes also on quality, which is a recent phenomenon in the west. But in Islam the concept of TQM is emphasized and practices from the very beginning of its inception. This article is an attempt to critically analyze the concept of TQM from the western and Islamic perspective comparatively.

Academic Attitudes towards the Use of Mobile Phone Technologies for Knowledge Sharing in Higher Education Institutions: An Exploratory Survey
Hussein, Abdel-Rahman
The potential of mobile phone technology (MPT) is huge and it has broken ground for enhancing knowledge sharing activities among academicians in Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs). However, it was found that there was lack of academic research on the use of MPT for knowledge sharing purposes in IHEs. In IHEs, MPTs such as cell phones, smart phones and PDAs that have interesting features like camera, video, memory, MP3 player, internet and finally, the possibility of being present using a device, makes it possible for people to study anywhere, anytime. This study aimed to understand academicians’ general attitudes towards the use of MPT in IHEs.

Prospects of Teaching and Learning English Literature in Bangladesh: Background Vs the Current Status and some Recommendations
Yeasmin, Nellufar
This paper aims at examining the causes for the digression of the objectives of teaching and learning English as a subject of Humanities. It provides a literature review on the background of the approaches of studying English in Bangladesh. This study specifically attempts to answer the following questions: 1) What were the objectives of studying English Literature, especially in Bangladesh? 2) What are the changes in the teaching of English in terms of its objectives, syllabus, teaching methodology and student proficiency? 3) What is the approach of the teachers and students towards English? 4) Do the students study English out of an urge to develop their finer senses? The researcher has found that: though English was taught in the 19th century to produce liberal human beings and to develop their finer sensibilities to appreciate the aesthetics of literature, in the 21st century the objective of English has disintegrated because the students’ language proficiency has fallen and they are more eager to participate in the rat race of the job market than to enjoy the real essence of literature with zeal and enthusiasm. The students should be encouraged to study more of English literature with due respect for its humanitarian value.

Determinant factors of tourists satisfaction in Muslim's Countries: A Structural equation model (SEM)
Al Muala, Ayed
The challenges for the tourism sector in Islamic countries has become increasingly with the Arab spring. has suffered the Arab Islamic countries and damaged because of the wars in the region and the lack of security and stability in many countries, such as Iraq and Palestine. This study focused on the tourists' satisfaction who visit Jordan. Furthermore, despite the growth of the tourism industry, hotel industry in Islamic countries but most of them were facing fluctuating tourist visit provoked by dissatisfaction, high travel risk, mediocre hotel service, or negative Jordan image. Moreover, considerable fragmentation and inconsistency in empirical findings has limited theory development. Hence, this study aims to examine the causal relationships between Jordan image, perceived risk, service climate and tourist's satisfaction. From 850 questionnaires distributed, 504 samples (60% response rate) were returned. Each variable was measured using reliable developed scales: Jordan image (11 items), adapted from Schneider and Sonmez (1999), perceived risk (7 items) by Gallarza and Saura (2006), service climate (10 items) by Schneider and Bowen’s, (1998); Martin et al., (2006), and tourist satisfaction (10 items) by (Olorunniwo et al, 2006; Chitty et al, 2007). Data was input into SPSS and analysed using the structural equation modeling techniques (Amos 6.0). Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA factor loadings show adequate convergent validity for all constructs. SEM results indicate all hypotheses are significant in the speculated directions, thus establishing the importance of Jordan image, perceived risk, service climate to enhance tourist satisfaction.

Since things changed promptly in this new economy, the concern is not only on how much you acquainted with, but also how promptly you can apply and capture what you have learnt. In various ways, knowledge sharing is visualized as an academic institutions' natural activity. The academics number of conferences, seminars, workshops and publications is far exceeding any other signifying the eagerness, profession and kindness of academics to share knowledge. This paper presents a brief review on the significance to explore key ideas for higher education research. The paper summarized knowledge sharing technologies that can help to create, capture, organize access and use the intellectual assets of the organizations. In addition, this study presents a brief review about knowledge management and sharing in Institutions of Higher Learning, reasons for applying knowledge management principles in Institutions of Higher Learning.

Antecedents of Actual Visit Behavior amongst International Tourists in Jordan: Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) Approach
Al Muala, Ayed
This study which is based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), examines the relationships between antecedents of revisit intention, perceived risk and actual visit behavior, and the mediating effect of revisit intention in the relationship between perceived behavior control and actual visit behavior. Data was collected from 850 tourists via questionnaires. The data was analyzed using structural equation modeling techniques (Amos 6.0) to evaluate the path model. Additionally, deductive approach was used. The findings highlight four significant direct relationships (1) revisit intention and (2) perceived risk to actual visit behavior; (3) tourist attitude and revisit intention (4) subjective norm and revisit intention. And tow hypothesis were insignificant relationships which are; perceived behavior control and revisit intention and perceived behavior control and actual visit behavior. however, does not have mediating effect. This result demonstrates the ability of the original TPB model to explain international tourists' behavior in Jordan. The findings are discussed in the context of the antecedents of revisit intention and actual visit behavior of international tourists in Jordan.

Numerical Solutions for Nonlocal Problem of Partial Differential Equations with Deviated Boundary Conditions
El-Sayed, A.M.A.
In this work, we propose a model of nonlocal partial differential equation (PDE) with deviated type function in the boundary condition. This model is solved numerically by finite difference method (FDM) using variable space grid (VSG) technique. The results obtained by this method are in a good agreement with the solution of the corresponding rectangular domain problem. Also, we investigated the stability analysis of problem technique by using von-Neumann method.

Compact Finite Difference Schemes for Partial integro-differential Equations
Soliman, Amal
In the present paper a numerical method based on fourth order finite difference and collocation method is presented for the numerical solution of partial integro-differential equation (PIDE). A composite weighted trapezoidal rule is manipulated to handle the numerical integrations which results in a closed-form difference scheme. The efficiency and accuracy of the scheme is validated by its application to one test problem which have exact solutions. Numerical results show that this fourth-order scheme has the expected accuracy. The most advantages of compact finite difference method for PIDE are that it obtains high order of accuracy, while the time complexity to solve the matrix equations after we use compact finite difference method on PIDE is O(N), and it can solve very general case of PIDE.

LT-DCT Hybrid Scheme for Image Coding
Elhafiez, W. M.
This paper describes an efficient lifting based hybrid image coding (LB-HIC) scheme. The proposed scheme is based on using the lifting transform (LT) in conjunction with the discrete cosine transform (DCT) to provide coding performance superior to the popular image coders. The proposed method uses combination of the DCT coding and the high performance of the set partitioning in hierarchical tree (SPIHT) coding. The modification process provides a new subband image data containing almost the same information of the original one but having smaller values of the lifting coefficients. Simulation results of the proposed method demonstrate that, with small addition in the computational complexity of the coding process, the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) performance of the proposed algorithm is much higher than that of the SPIHT test coder and some of famous image coding techniques.

Fundamental matrix method for the reactor kinetics equations of multi-group of delayed neutrons
Nahla, Abdallah
The point reactor kinetics equations of multi-group of delayed neutrons are a system of stiff ordinary differential equations. The fundamental matrix method is based on the eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenvectors of the coefficient matrix of the homogenous linear differential equations. The point reactor kinetics equations are rewritten in the matrix form of differential equations. The fundamental matrix of this system is calculated using the eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenvectors of the coefficient matrix. Stability of the solution of this method is defined and discussed. The fundamental matrix method is applied to the point kinetics equations of six-groups of delayed neutrons with step, ramp, sinusoidal and the temperature feedback reactivities. The results of the fundamental matrix method are compared with the results of the traditional methods. These comparisons substantiate the accuracy the fundamental matrix method.

Central Moments via Factorial Moments for Some Discrete Distributions
Ewis, Karem
Central moments are usually calculated in terms of non central moments. This may be difficult in many discrete distributions. In this paper, the factorial moments are simply calculated. Then a closed form is deduced for the central moments. A new number is produced to simplify calculations of the required moments. Central moments are calculated for some discrete distributions.

Operators of minimal norm via modified Green's function for the elastic two-dimensional case using the simple multipole coefficients
SAHLI, Belkacem
The problem of non-uniqueness arising in the integral formulation of an exterior boundary value problem for the elastic two-dimensional case can be faced using the fundamental solution technique. In this work a criterion based on the minimization of the norm of the modified integral operator is established using simple multipole coefficients. As an example of the proposed procedure the case of the circle and perturbations of circle are examined.

Adaptive synchronization of two different n-dimensional chaotic complex nonlinear systems with fully uncertain parameters
Mahmoud, Gamal
Our main contribution in this paper is to investigate the phenomenon of adaptive complete synchronization of two different n-dimensional chaotic complex nonlinear systems with fully uncertain parameters. The idea of an adaptive control technique based on complex Lyapunov function is used to state a scheme to achieve the adaptive synchronization of chaotic attractors of these systems. For illustration, this scheme is applied to two different chaotic complex Lorenz and Lü systems. The adaptive control functions and the parameters estimation laws are calculated analytically to show that the error dynamical system is globally stable. Numerical simulations are computed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the analytical expressions of adaptive controllers.

Heat and mass transfer analysis on the flow of non-Newtonian micropolar fluid with uniform suction/blowing, heat generation, chemical reaction and Thermophoresis effects.
Mohamed, R. A.
In this paper, the problem of heat and mass transfer on the flow of non-Newtonian micropolar fluid with uniform suction/blowing, heat generation, radiation, thermophoresis and chemical reaction is presented and discussed. The Homotopy Analysis Method (HAM) is employed to compute an approximation to the solution of the system of nonlinear differential equations governing the problem. The effects of various physical parameters such as material parameter, suction parameter, heat generation/absorption parameter, Prandtl number, radiation parameter, thermophoretic parameter, chemical reaction parameter and Schmidt number on the velocity profile temperature profile and concentration profile are studied and shown in several plots.

Solutions of Fractional Order Model of Childhood Diseases with
Constant Vaccination Strategy
Arafa, A.A.M.
Childhood vaccination programs have had a dramatic impact on child morbidity and mortality. Protecting children from diseases that can be prevented by vaccination is a primary goal of health administrators. A SIR model that monitors the temporal dynamics of a childhood disease in the presence of preventive vaccine is presented in this paper. We introduce fractional-order into the presented model. Homotopy analysis method (HAM) is considered in this paper to obtain an analytic approximate solution of this model. The results obtained by HAM are compared with the classical fourth order Runge–Kutta method (RK4) to gauge its effectiveness. The obtained results proved that the disease will persist within the population if the vaccination coverage level is below a certain threshold.

The Impact of Information Technology and Social Networks in changing Political and Social Reality of the Arab Countries
Yaghi, Khalil
The impact of online social networks on social capital can be achieved in myriad ways. For instance, common interest groups can help users coordinate for collective action. At the same time, regular exchanges between users can foster trust and norms of reciprocity that are key antecedents of community life. Likewise, news feeds allow users to keep in touch with what is going on “out there.” This paper looks at the positive and negative impacts of the internet and the social media in the Arab world; Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Yemen, Jordan, Syria, Bahrain and Palestine. It also focuses on the factors that, have led to the increased use of the social media in these states as well as the measures and controls the authorities are taking to monitor the use of the social media.

Dynamic Data Allocation Methods in Distributed Database System
Chandra Gope, Dejan
Allocation of data or fragments in distributed database is a critical design issue and requires the most effort. It has the greater impact on the quality of the final solution and hence the operational efficiency of the system. Performance of the distributed database system is heavily dependent on allocation of data among the different sites over the network. The static allocation provides only the limited response to the change in workload. So, choosing an appropriate technique for allocation in the distributed database system is an important design issue. In this paper, a new dynamic data allocation for distributed database system has been proposed. The proposed methods reallocates data with respect to the changing data access patterns with time constraint. This methods will decrease the movement of data over the network and also improve the overall performance of the system. A new dynamic data allocation algorithm for non-replicated distributed database systems (DDS), namely the NNA algorithm. This algorithm reallocates data with respect to changing data access pattern for each fragment. In this algorithm, data is moved to a node which is the neighborhood and also placed in the path to the node with maximum access counter. This algorithm is very suitable for DDS in the networks which have low bandwidth and frequent requests for a data fragment come from different sites by providing data clustering. The simulation results show that for complex and large networks where the request for fragments generates more frequently or the fragment size is large, the NNA algorithm provides better response time and spends less time for moving fragments in the network.

A Measure of Social of Globalization: Factor Analytic and Substantial Validity Assessment Using a Sample of Young Adult Kuwaitis

A sample of 146 undergraduate university students in Kuwait were used to establish the factor structure and substantive validity of a 21-item questionnaire of social globalization based on the conceptualized dimensions of personal contact, cultural proximity, and information flows. Results of the factor analysis suggested a five-factor structure that was labeled: information flows-internet; information flows-print; information flows-TV; personal contact; and cultural proximity. Furthermore, results of the substantive validity analysis suggested that although the items may be indicative of the constructs under investigation, respondents did not correlate them with their intended constructs with a higher degree of concordance. Implications for further research are discussed.

Water quality study carried out in Bura'a natural protected area for fifteen water samples collected from differen springs and surface water resources distributed within the study area. This study aims to evaluate the suitability of water resources for drinking purpose and also to find its suitability for agricultural uses. Physical, chemical and bacteriological parameters of water resources such as temperatue (T), Electrical Conductivity (EC), pH, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Na+, K+, Ca+2, Mg+2, Cl-, HCO3-2, SO4-2,NO3-1, Fe+2, F-1, PO4-2, total coliform and fecal coliform were determined. The results shows that the abundance of the major ions is as follows: Ca+2> Na+ > Mg+2 >> K+ and HCO3- > Cl- > SO4-2 >NO3-. Water classification of the study area indicate the the role of simple dissolution and weathering in the chemistry of water resources. Water resources in the study area is generally hard to very hard and considered as fresh water type with TDS less than 600 mg/l. The analytical results of physical and chemical studied samples identify a suitability of water for drinking except few samples that shows a relatively high concentration level of nitrate. Water resources in the study area have a considerable amounts from fecal coliform above the maximum permissible limits that determined from WHO and Yemeni standards fron drinking purposes. Therfore, the bacteriological parameters of water samples indicate unsuitability of studied samples for drinking. Sewage and agricultural activities are generally leading to water resources pollution in the study area which is alarming considering the use of this water for drinking. All water samples have low sodium hazard (SAR) (S1) and high salinity hazard (C3), Na% less than 40% that indicate the suitability of water resources for all types of irrigation purposes.

Hand Tracking and Hand Gesture Recognition for Human Computer Interaction
Chandra Gope, Dejan
Hand tracking and hand gesture recognition is an important problem in the field of human-computer interaction. A number of solutions have been proposed in the current literature, but the problem is still far from being solved since the hand exhibits significant amounts of articulation and self-occlusion that cause difficulties with existing algorithms. To further exasperate these problems, interactive applications require that the hand tracking perform in real-time. The current ubiquity of webcams offers an opportunity to create computer vision systems which can enable novel new methods for human-computer interaction. To that end, we present a system which allows the user to control the operating system cursor in a hands-free way by gesturing in mid-air. Our system leverages OpenCV and the X windowing system to track the index finger and thumb of a user using a webcam. The user can motion in the direction she/he wishes the cursor to move, and can execute mouse operations by “pointing” toward the camera and breaking a “plane of interaction”. Our goal with this work is to demonstrate a proof-of-concept system for enabling a new method of controlling and interfacing with a computer using commodity webcams.

HUMAN RIGHTS AND GOOD GOVERNANCE: A CRITICAL NEXUS EXPANDING HUMAN RIGHTS AND ROLE OF CIVIL SOCIETY
Ferdousour Rahman, Khan
Human Rights (HR) and Good Governance (GG) are intrinsically interrelated, in that GG can not be achieved without respect
for the HR and HR can not be enforced and observed without GG.
The international HR law protects a wider scope of rights of GG. The promotion of HR requires firm and principled governance at all
level. GG cannot be meaningful without HR. The contribution of judiciary is also very important in the context of GG.
Importantly the civil society can contribute much for the development as well as ensuring GG to establish HR in the country.

FAIR TRADE IN BANGLADESH: CHALLENGES AND PROSPECTS
Siddiqui, Arshad
While vast wealth has been built throughout the North, Bangladesh, like other Third World countries, endure extreme poverty.
This has caused the denial of basic human needs that is a form of violence. Perpetuating a system, which represses individual
fulfillment of potential, suggests that civil security is threatened under current circumstances. That is becoming a culture of
existing paradigm and need to be confronting no less then with cultural integrity in global context and facts.
This paper examines the approach of alternative trade or more commonly as fair trade to transforming the structural violence and
threat to mass security in Bangladesh. This examination of alternative trade presents a description of on the benefits it offers to
Bangladeshi small producers (in this Paper Handicraft of Bangladesh will be the instance) and presents an opinion on the strengths and
accomplishments, challenges, and the future role of Fair trade in the country.
Conclusions of the study are that alternative trade offers much promise to Bangladeshi deprived mass even with the constrains before
it, which are overcome able through the proposed recommendations.

PRICE CONTROL & GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION IN BUSINESS: A STUDY ON BANGLADESH
Karim, Md. Rezaul
The Interim Government of Bangladesh has been interfering in the distribution channel of business; accusingly arguing that price fixing-up of essential commodities is unethically being done through hoarding or warehousing. Counter balancing the private sector, Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) have got the assignment to act as retailer; they fix-up prices themselves that are relatively cheaper than the open market raising many peoples eye brows as if it is the Government interference in the private business domain! How far it is appreciable in the context of open market or free economy practice. Questions arise about the open-trade policy or controlled–economy! How far Government is responsible in pricing of a product or services. Question arises as to why warehousing needed, and how far be stored. Whether prohibiting or restricting Stock-holding by law is viable in the open economy philosophy. Or who will control the Inventory- Government or the management. Whether the pricing is over priced or fixed in the inter-action of economic factors and market fundamentals.

A COMPREHENSIVE COMPETITION LAW IN BANGLADESH
SHAMIM FAISAL, A. K.

Finite element solution of thermal radiation effect on unsteady MHD flow past a vertical porous plate with variable suction
Gundagani, Murali
The paper examined the thermal radiation effect on unsteady megnetohydrodynamic flow
past a vertical porous plate with variable suction is analyzed. The non dimensional governing
equations are formed with the help of suitable dimensionless governing parameter. The resultant
coupled non dimensional governing equations are solved by a finite element method. The
velocity, temperature and concentration distributions are derived, discussed numerically and their
profiles for various values of physical parameters are shown through graphs. The coefficient of
skin-friction, Nusselt number and Sherwood number at the plate are derived, discussed
numerically and their numerical values for various values of physical parameters are presented
through Tables. It is observed that, when the radiation parameter increases the velocity and
temperature increase in the boundary layer. Also, it is found that as increase in the magnetic field
leads to decrease in the velocity field and rise in the thermal boundary thickness.

CORPORATE GOVERNANCE AND THE FINANCIAL FAILURE
AL-Momani, Salam
This study aims at examining the effect of corporate governance on revealing the financial failure of Jordanian Public Joint-Stock Companies. Two independent variables were specified: determining board of director responsibility and disclosure. Meantime, the dependant variable was revealing the financial failure. The study population consisted of (100) industrial companies and it depended on the randomized sample. The sample taken out for the study consisted of 50% of the total study population. The researchers distributed 50 questionnaires out of which 45 valid for statistical analysis were received. The study employed the Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) Version 17 for windows, data was analyzed through: the use of descriptive statistics methods, reliability analysis, and regression. The study made a number of conclusions, most importantly: There is statistically significant effect to determine the responsibilities of the Board of Directors of the company; disclosure on revealing the financial failure. Based on such results, the researchers proposed some recommendations such as: Attention should be given to determine the authorities and responsibilities of all the management personals of the company, so that it can be possible to determine who is responsible for the financial failure.

A Survey of Automated tools for translating Arab Chat Alphabet into Arabic Language
Mostafa, Lamiaa
Internet is a global phenomenon in our life. Arab internet users are increasing rapidly. However the tools that help those users’ needs are not fully tolerated to fulfill their requirements. Arab Chat Alphabet (ACA) is created for this reason. Arab users created a new format of the Arabic language; this format uses English letters to express Arabic words. Usually ACA is used in Instant Messaging (IM) and chatting purposes. For this reason it is important to understand the different available tools that write this language and validate the usage of theses tools. The paper’s aim is to report on the survey of the different ACA translation tools and emphasizing the importance of theses tools in other applications like text mining, Information Retrieval and English Arabic translation. An experiment is executed to validate the translation tools, results had shown that Microsoft Maren has the highest accuracy compared to the other tools.

OPTIMIZED AND VALIDATED SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC METHOD FOR THE DETERMINATION OF OLANZAPINE IN PHARMACEUTICAL FORMULATIONS USING 1,2,-NAPHTHOQUINONE-4-SULPHONATE (NQS)
Elbashir, Abdalla
Spectrophotometric study was carried out, for the first time, to investigate the reaction between the antipsychotic Olanzapine (OLP) and 1,2-naphthoquinone -4-sulphonate (NQS) reagent. In alkaline medium (pH 13), an orange-colored product exhibiting maximum absorption peak (λmax) at 454nm was produced. The stoichiometry of the reaction was determined and the reaction mechanism was postulated. This color-developing reaction was successfully employed in the development of simple and rapid spectrophotometric method for determination of OLP in its pharmaceutical dosage forms. Under the optimized reaction conditions, Beer’s law correlating the absorbance (A) with OLP concentration (C) was obeyed in the range of 0.4–4 µgml−1. The regression equation for the calibration data was A = 0.0372 + 0.1637C, with good correlation coefficient (0.9997). The molar absorptivity (ε) was 5.6×104 l mol−1 cm−1. The limits of detection, quantification and Sandell sensitivity were 0.09, 0.29 µgml−1 and 0.006 µgcm−2 respectively. The intra-day precision (%RSD) and accuracy (%RE) ranged from 0.2 to 0.67 % and from 0.18 to 0.66 %, respectively, the inter-day (%RSD) and (%RE) values were within 0.12 % and 0.52 %, respectively. The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of OLP in its pharmaceutical tablets with good accuracy and precisions; the label claim percentage was 100.67± 0.06. The method is practical and valuable for its routine application in quality control laboratories for analysis of OLP.

Positive Expectation: a Success factor of Mobile Tourism Marketing
Al Sarabi, Alaa
Many information technology acceptance models were developed to test user acceptance of new technology. The leading model is the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) introduced by Davis and amended by others. TAM models how users accept to use a technology. Our study focus on the use of mobile marketing in tourism in Saudi Arabia, expectation has been perceived to be an important factor affecting the use of this new mobile marketing services. This study studies the effect positive expectation has on mobile tourism marketing adoption based on an extended technology acceptance model. The study is based on a survey conducted among tourists visiting major tourism attraction sites in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Statistical correlations and multiple regressions were used to test the research hypotheses. The study shows that positive expectation has a significant influence on tourists attitude to accept mobile tourism marketing.

DOES COUNTRY-OF-ORIGIN MATTER ON PRODUCT EVALUATIONS AMONG SAUDI CONSUMERS’ PERCEPTIONS?
Alsughayir, Abdulrahman
The purpose of this study is to investigate Saudi consumers‟ perceptions towards foreign products, and in particular looks at how the country of origin effect influences their behavior. The study reports on the findings of a survey conducted in which 380 responses were obtained. In general, Saudi consumers attributed higher quality to products made in developed countries. The study also showed that the average Saudi consumer does not consider the country of origin aspect to be their priority in deciding to purchase a product. Other product attributes take precedence, particularly quality, technological prowess and price.

The Numerical Solution of lntegro-partial differential equations with sixth-
Degree B-Spline Functions
Soliman, A. F.
In this paper, we consider the approximate solution of the following problem.(see full paper) To solve this problem, we introduce a new nonstandard time discretization scheme. A proof of
convergence of the approximate solution is given and error estimates are derived. The numerical
results obtained by the suggested technique are compared with the exact solution of the problem.
The numerical solution displays the expected convergence to the exact one as the mesh size is

A NEW LINEAR SCHEME FOR SOLVING THE 1-D BURGER’S EQUATION
Amin, N. G.
A new model technique based on the linearization of Burger’s equation is introduced. In
this paper we consider the approximate solution of the following nonlinear one
dimensional Burgers’ equation. A new discretization scheme is introduced. A proof of
convergence of the approximate solution is given and error estimates are derived. The
numerical results obtained by the suggested technique are compared with the exact
solution of the problem and also with other numerical methods. It is shown that our
scheme is comparable with the others, and the numerical solution displays the expected
convergence to the exact one as the mesh size is refined.

EMPLOYING BIOGAS POWERED BASE TRANSCEIVER STATION IN BANGLADESH: CURRENT AND FUTURE PROSPECT
Rahman, Shahriar
Biogas is gaining popularity for providing green power in Bangladesh. Since the last decade, market penetration rate of cell phone has almost doubled especially in rural areas. Due to power scarcity, most operators are taking more and more BTSs off-grid. Some of them are renewable energy powered and most of those are solar based PV-cell powered. But as initial CAPEX is very high and efficiency is quite low so many operators are looking for better alternatives. Biogas can be an answer to their call. At present one biogas powered BTS is running on test basis. In this paper, current state and future prospect of biogas in telecom sector of Bangladesh is discussed.

Assessing the Relationship between Marketing Mix and Loyalty through Tourists Satisfaction in Jordan Curative Tourism
Al Muala, Ayed
The aim of this paper is to explore the relationship between three key variables, namely Marketing Mix, satisfaction and loyalty in curative tourism industry in Jordan. The seven dimensions of the Marketing Mix employed in this study are product, price, promotion, physical evidence, place, personnel, and process. Out of 950 questionnaires, 690 were returned by the end of September, 2009. Each variable was measured using reliable developed scales: product (6 items), adapted from (Yuksel, 2004), price (6 items) by (Yuksel, 2004), physical evidence (6 items) by (Yuksel, 2004), promotion (9 items) by (Yuksel, 2004), place (4 items) by (Yuksel, 2004), process (4 items)by (Yuksel, 2004), personnel (5 items) by (Yuksel, 2004), and tourist satisfaction (5 items) by Lim et al (2006). Finally, destination loyalty (7 items) by Lim et al (2006) .Data was input into SPSS and analyzed used exploratory factor analysis (EFA). SPSS results indicate that there some hypotheses: results of this study were as follows: H1 show that product and place were significant on destination loyalty. While, price, personnel and process not significant on destination loyalty, and for H2 show that product, place, price, personnel and process significant impact on tourist satisfaction. In addition, H3 show that the tourist satisfaction mediates the relationship between Marketing Mix and loyalty.

GOOGLING THE GROUP: TEACHER EDUCATION THROUGH ICT
Kanvaria, Vinod
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has evolved as one of the major tools for improvising education in general and teaching-learning process in particular, at present. It, alongwith all its various dimensions, has proved to be indispensable for better teaching-learning approach from lowest level of learning to highest level of learning (Gagne, 1965, Patsula, 1999) and from nursery level to higher education level. As far as higher education is concerned it has, not only, boosted up the process of learning but also provided better opportunities for learners to construct, acquire, consolidate, share and expand their knowledge. Web 2.0 tools (Scott, 2008, 2011), some of the prominent tools of ICT, have provided the learner the facility for developing, actively contributing and collaborating, user created content, customizing technology and content alongwith playing a leading role for expressing his/her ideas more democratically and initiatively, especially in higher education, for the individual and the community. One of such tools is Google-group (Google, 2010). It provides learner/user the opportunities to raise and discuss a topic, invite new members, create pages, upload and share files. The current study talks of implications, made through Google-group, among learners at a teacher training course, in learning process, planning for activities, academic discussions on various issues, discussion about assignments and holding a debate on Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CBSE, 2009). It throws light on the democratic (Shukla, 2004), scholarly, professional values (Pilichowski, Arnould, OECD, 2007) and leadership qualities (Meyer, 2008) developed among the learners of teacher training course during this pursue, and hence, the implication of ICT in general and Google group in particular, for better learning.

SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC METHOD FOR THE DETERMINATION OF OFLOXACIN AND LEVOFLOXACIN IN PHARMACEUTICAL FORMULATIONS
Ebraheem, Sara
A new, simple, accurate and sensitive spectrophotometric method has been developed for the analysis of ofloxacin (OFL) and levofloxacin (LEV) in their pharmaceutical formulations, through oxidation of these drugs with a known excess of cerium (IV) sulphate in acidic medium and the residual oxidant is determined by treating with a fixed amount of methyl orange, then measuring the absorbance at 507 nm. The amount of cerium (IV) sulphate reacted corresponds to the drug concentration in the sample solution. Different variables affecting the reaction were carefully studied. Beer’s law correlating the absorbance with concentration was obeyed in the range of 0.5—3.0 and 1.0—3.5 μg mL-1 for OFL and LEV respectively, with good correlation coefficient (0.99854 and 0.99931 for OFL and LEV respectively). The method was validated in terms of accuracy and precision and successfully applied to the determination of each drug in its pharmaceutical formulations. The results obtained by the proposed method were comparable with those obtained by reported method.

A novel spectrophotometric for the determination of cephalosporins using 8-hydroxy-1, 3, 6-pyrenetrisulfonic acid trisodium salt (HPTS) as a chromogenic reagent
Elbashir, Abdalla
A simple, accurate and precise spectrophotometric method has been proposed for the determination of three cephalosporins, namely; cefixime (cefi), cephalexin (ceph) and cefotaxime sodium (cefo) in pharmaceutical formulations. The proposed method is based on the derivatization of cephalosporins with 1-hydroxy-3, 6, 8-pyrenetrisulfonic acid trisodium salt, (HPTS). The optimum experimental conditions have been studied carefully. Beer’s law is obeyed over the concentration of 0.1-0.6, 0.3-1.8 and 0.5-3 μg/mL for cefi, ceph and cefo, respectively.
The detection limits were found to be 0.03, 0.14 and 0.15 μg/ mL for cefi, ceph and cefo, respectively, with a linear regression correlation coefficient of 0.99902, 0.99728 and 0.99892 for cefi, ceph and cefo, respectively. And recovery in range form 97.57-102.45, 91.61-95.6 and 96.25-103.85 for cefi, ceph and cefo, respectively. Effects of pH, temperature, standing time and HPTS concentration on the determination of cefi, ceph and cefo, have been examined. This method is simple and can be used for the determination of cefi, ceph and cefo in pharmaceutical formulations.

COAL POWER UTILIZATION AS AN ENERGY MIX OPTION FOR NIGERIA: A REVIEW
Oji , J.O.
This work reviews the impact of coal energy utilization as a viable energy mix option for Nigeria. Adequate power supply is unavoidably a prerequisite for any nation’s growth and development. Electric power drives industrialization, which improves communication, helps innovation in science and technology, provides sound healthcare delivery system and generally improves the standard of living of citizens. Nigeria’s economy face growing challenges: a widening trade imbalance, growing competition from developed countries, a collapse of big manufacturing companies, and a sharp increase in the cost of doing business, all owing basically to energy and its related infrastructural costs. Recent years have seen government’s desire to increase electricity generation through the utilization of its abundant coal deposits but the challenges are still not surmounted. These challenges and recommendations on the way to overcome them are also highlighted. It is the issue of “getting it right the first time” that this work emphasizes hence it is among the short range reviews of the energy problem in Nigeria.

Effects of Light on the Intraocular Pressure of Aqueous Humor
Reza, Taslim
High Intraocular Pressure (IOP) for longer period of time may guide the eye to different deceases and Glaucoma is one of them. Continuous, non-invasive and comfortable way of measuring IOP is necessary to detect the high IOP at the very early stage. Few methods are involved widely to measure the IOP in the doctor’s chamber. Some other methods can be used by the person himself but those are still in research stage. In this paper, we utilize the basic characteristics of white light and also the physical characteristics of aqueous humor and cornea to propose a continuous, non-invasive way to measure IOP. The change of intraocular pressure is relates to the change of refractive index and that changes are shown with proper plotting.

ENHANCING THE TUTOR MODEL OF INTELLIGENT TUTORING SYSTEMS
Abu-Dawwas, Waheeb A.
Intelligent Tutoring Systems are systems that have general features that can communicate with a student, define the student knowledge and abilities, and can change the teaching strategy. Teaching strategies employed in intelligent tutoring systems, as usual, are not based on old and recent developments in pedagogical science and ignoring both general principles of teaching and learning theory and many classical teaching methods suggested by practicing teachers. This paper describes the use of traditional theories of teaching and learning, in terms of enhancing the tutor model of intelligent tutoring systems.

RELIGION AND NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN NIGERIA
Ajaegbu, Okechukwu
The level of development of a country is affected by many factors. Economists tend to emphasize the impact of economic variables however; political and social factors can also be very important determinant of national development.
This paper therefore examined the influence of religion on the development of Nigeria. Theories such as ‘the philosophical theory of religion as a theory of terrorism’ and ‘protestant ethic and the spirit of capitalism’ were used to clearly explain the influence of religion on national development.
In sum, it was noted that the relationship between religion and development is likely to be complementary as long as religious beliefs and practices promote ‘moderation’ rather than ‘extremes’.

TEACHING BUSINESS ENGLISH FOR ARAB SPEAKERS
Alameddine, Mira M.
Teaching Business English (L2) for target learners whose L1 is Arabic requires certain procedures. Instructors must address problems that their Arabic learners will probably face in acquiring Business communication in L2. This paper will discuss the major problems that learners whose L1 is Arabic face in learning Business English which is L2 and what the role of the instructor is in guiding the learners to overcome these obstacles and acquire the desired skills. Instructors need to address the four problems that their Arab learners are probably going to encounter. These problems are: 1) negative transfer; 2) the difference in writing strategies; 3) prepositional knowledge; and 4) collocational patterns. Thus, instructors have to teach the learners to overcome negative transfer, include practices that guide the learners to overcome the differences in strategies of business communication that exist between L1 and L2 and address the cultural differences between the two main languages.

Thermal annealing effect on the structural and magnetic properties of barium hexaferrite powders
Mahgoob, A.
Hudeish, A. Y.
Samples examined in this experimental work were in the form of hexagonal barium ferrite with various temperatures annealing. Barium hexaferrite (BaFe12O19), is of great importance as permanent magnets, particularly for magnetic recording as well as in microwave devices. The variation of the temperatures annealing was found to affect coercivity, mean effective anisotropy field, magnetic viscosity, and switching field distribution. Moreover the variation of interaction fields with various temperatures was found to be non linear and this can be attributed to the particle interactions in these systems. Single phase of well crystalline BaFe12O19 was first obtained at annealing temperature 1100°C. The SEM results showed that the grains were regular hexagonal platelets. In addition, maximum saturation magnetization was observed at annealing temperature 1200°C. However, it was found that the coercivety of the synthesized BaFe12O19 samples were lower than the theoretical values.

SOA architecture is more and more used in the companies, in counterpart, the company needs the decision-making processes which proceed with the processes trades, dimension is absent in this type of architecture. On the basis of these notes, we are interested, in this paper, on the development of a two-dimensional new architecture of integration of the decisional aspects in SOA architectures, so that they are used perfectly. The proposal takes support, mainly, on the use of a coupling MAS-SOA.

The Role of Social Media in the Egyptian Revolution: The Initiation Phase (2010-2011)
Zeid, Amir
Al-Khalaf, Fatima
Social media tools are media for social interaction, using highly accessible and scalable publishing techniques. Enabled by ubiquitously accessible and scalable communication techniques, social media substantially change the way of communication between organizations, communities, as well as individuals. Facebook, Twitter, Second Life, and blogs are all examples of popular social media tools. One of the reasons why Social media play a very important role nowadays is because of the increase of internet penetration all over the world.
In this paper, we investigate the role social media played in the Egyptian revolution that erupted January 25th, 2011. It has been argued that the Egyptian revolution is a “Social Media Revolution.” No other revolution was conducted using these tools before. The number of people who participated in the revolution grew rapidly because of the number of people using these tools and the amount of information sent instantly. Facebook was used extensively during the revolution to plan and organize protests (Crovitz, L. Gordon. 2011). Even before the revolution began, it was used to spread messages and to bring people together.

The use of Machine Learning techniques to predict farm size change – An implementation in the Dutch Dairy sector
Oudendag , Diti
Szlávik , Zoltán
van der Veen, Hennie
This paper investigates the use of several machine learning techniques in order to predict dairy farm size change in the Netherlands. The work presented is part of a larger effort to improve an agricultural model, called the Financial Economic Simulation (FES) model. The FES model simulates midterm financial economic development of farms, but until now it has not taken farm size change into account, which made it static, hence, sub-optimal when significant structural changes might occur in agriculture.
In our work, we used data from the Dutch Farm Accountancy Data Network (FADN), covering the period between 2001 and 2009. After preprocessing the data, we built models using Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) and Neural Networks (NN), and measured model performance at various prediction periods (looking ahead one to eight years in time).
Our results show that the chosen methods are able to predict farm size change effectively, and that prediction quality is best when the aim is to predict farm size four years ahead, for which we also provide a likely explanation.

Investigating the power of interpersonal social influence on citizens’ attitude towards civic engagements in Egypt
Negm, Eiman
Tantawi, Passent
Yehia, Ayat
El Sharabassy, Azza
The aim of this paper is to identify various antecedents that create influential social influence. In addition, it plans to investigate the power of interpersonal social influence on Egyptian citizens’ attitude towards civic engagements (individual and collective actions designed to identify and address public and social issues. Civic engagement can take many forms, from individual voluntarism to organizational involvement to electoral participation). This study was considered conclusive research, with a cross-sectional design and an exploratory purpose. The variables were identified through the use of semi-structured interviews. Nine interviews were conducted until the saturation level. The empirical findings indicate that interpersonal social influence plays a vital part in the Egyptian Citizens attitude formation towards civic engagements. In Egypt, civic engagements take many forms of activities. It can include direct efforts of citizens in helping the poor, cleaning local neighborhoods, visiting and volunteering in orphanages, and various political activities, both conventional (such as voting and helping in the presidential campaigns) and unconventional (such as protesting and demonstrating social and governmental issues). People in the Egyptian community seek advice and information from various social ties. These people create powerful impact on the listeners’ attitude due to a wide range of personal characteristics and how they deliver the message. This study contributes on the theoretical level in the following ways: by adding to the field of interpersonal social influence and civic engagement in the Middle East context; by establishing a proposed conceptual framework concerning interpersonal-social influence on attitude formation towards participating in activities that serves the community; and by demonstrating what constitutes as civic engagement in the urban Egyptian context.

Structural and electrical sensitivity at several temperatures with hydrogen sensor of Ni/AlGaN Schottky diode
Hudeish, A. Y.
Mahgoob, A.
The characteristics of Ni Schottky diodes on AlGaN contact the Al mole fraction up to in pure nitrogen and 2% hydrogen in nitrogen ambient are studied. High temperature stability of Ni diode on AlGaN was achieved by long term annealing at 450C at 1min. The diode I-V response from (50-450C) has been characterized, revealing the diodes ability to detect 2% hydrogen in nitrogen ambient at 100C up to 450C and pure nitrogen from 150C up to 450C. For the samples without annealing under gas of 2% hydrogen in nitrogen ambient, the ideality factor decreases from 1.77 to 1.50, and series resistance decreases from 213 to 126, and the barrier height increases from 1.00 to 1.18 eV with increasing temperature. For the Schottky contacts annealed in nitrogen ambient at 450C for 1min, the ideality factor decreases from 2.18 to 1.58, and series resistance decreases from 363 to 207, and the barrier height increases from 0.77 to 1.04 eV with increasing temperature in a temperature range of 198-298 K. The ideality factor and series resistance of the Schottky contacts with annealing are higher than those without annealing, while the barrier height is lower than that without annealing at various temperatures.

New challenges and opportunities of Continuing Education Programs in Lebanon
Majdalani, Michel
By establishing regional continuing education centers across Lebanon, a country characterized as a fragile state with an unstable political environment, a private university’s continuing education (CE) unit faces new challenges and opportunities. Following a methodology aimed at minimizing known uncertainties, three central themes had been acknowledged to underscore the resolution of a higher education private institution in strategically expanding its outreach programs. The first relates to the university’s adaptation, as an organization, of an effective administrative arrangement in response to the nature of the new external environment it is now engaged in. The second concerns the uncertainties associated with choosing strategic regional allies as partners in the expansive CE strategy to best serve the communities. The third involves strategic knowledge management challenges and related strategic solutions to attend to client’s demands. By tackling the known uncertainties associated with the new external environment, it is argued that the university’s ability to bring in social returns could well be enhanced. We conclude with shared lessons that would guide decision makers, strategic planners and university administrators with respect to steps and approaches as they may face in similar situations.

Examining the Role of Responsibility Accounting in organizational Structure
Safa, Mojgan
As the centralized operations in organizations become more complicated in case of business development, the need to delegate authorities and responsibilities will depend on the size of the business. In a decentralized business organization, directors are responsible for planning and controlling the corporate operation.
If the authority to manage daily operations is transferred from high-level managers to middle managers, the former will have more opportunity to focus on strategic planning.
The responsibility accounting system is designed to report and accumulate costs by individual levels of responsibility. Each supervisory area is charged only with the cost for which it is responsible and over which it has control. There are three basic types of responsibility centers: cost centers, revenue centers, and investment centers. When budgeted amounts are compared with actual amounts and deviations are found, responsibility accounting can be used to find the causes of such deviation and hence improve the function. We can also determine each manager's responsibility to achieve his attainable goals in the organization.

Perception Of Organizational Commitment Among Nurses In Different Governmental Health Sectors At Riyadh City
Al-Aseeri, Mona
Some national studies and articles highlighted that governmental sectors in Riyadh city were suffering for many years from high turnover rate of nurses that reached to seventy percent in some hospitals and resulted in high nurses shortage . This study was conducted to assess nurses' perception of organizational commitment and compare dominant type of commitment (Affective, Continuance, and Normative) among different hospitals in governmental health sectors. The study included a total of 340 nurses who were working in different intensive care units .The positive findings regarding nurses' perception of commitment were that nurse's recorded higher perception of affective commitment than continuance and normative, which is beneficial for organizational effectiveness since that affective commitment has many positive consequences for the organization. In contrast, he nurses’ perception of commitment at the three settings needs a critical attention from hospitals administrators and managers, since that negative association was found between nurses professional status specifically clinical ladder and education with commitment.

Investigating The Effect of Young Adult’s Reliance on Social Networking Sites on Political Participation in Egypt
Arslan, Mona

El Sahn, Farid
The augmented use and attention of young adults’ of Social Networking Sites (SNS) had risen up the question of what are the outcomes of young adults’ reliance on social networking sites? In particular the purpose of this study is to investigate the dimensions that predict young adults’ reliance on SNS in Egypt while measuring its effect on the Egyptian political participation. This research adopted a sequential mixed methodology, where both qualitative and quantitative techniques were merged for better understanding and contribution to literature. With respect to sampling, this study has adopted area sampling to allow the generalization of data concluded. The findings confirm that young adults do rely on SNS. Additionally, findings of this study prove that there is a relation between reliance on SNS and political participation. Thus, the original value of this study stems from exploring the novelty of reliance on SNS by young adults in Egypt.

INTERNET-SAVVINESS OF IRAQI UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
Geyer, Roger
This exploratory study investigated the construct of Internet-Savviness (IS) exhibited by undergraduate Iraqi students at a four-year university in Iraq. Internet-Savviness is a new construct based on six dimensions: 1) social collaboration, 2) Internet fluency, 3) creative expression, 4) Internet self-efficacy, 5) information gathering, and 6) computer mediated communication. The IS scale, developed in 2007, was used to collect data from two hundred ninety six undergraduate students during the fall and spring semesters, 2008 through 2012. The instrument was re-evaluated and modified slightly to accommodate the new population of Iraqi undergraduate students. A subset of the results showed that although there were significant differences between males and females regarding Internet self-efficacy and self-report assessments of their own expertise in using the Internet, females’ overall scores on the Internet-Savviness scale was comparable to males’.

An Efficient technique for data hiding in audio signals
Al-Dallah, Randa
Al-Anani, Aseel
Al-Khalid, Rola
Massadeh, Samah
Data hiding, a form of steganography, is one of the emerging techniques that embeds secret data into a digital media and thus ensures secured data transfer. In this paper, the steganographic method used, is based on audio steganography which is concerned with embedding secret data in an audio file. The basic idea of our proposed method is that the host signal (the sound wave cover media) undergoes preprocessing, and then the results takes the shape of an image in which the data can be securely hidden in the image layers. The secret data is then hidden in a preprocessed sound wave using a traditional steganographic technique. The proposed method offers high quality of steganography process in terms of Peak Signal–to-Noise Ratio (PSNR). Only minor changes in the contents of the audio file occur, which are indiscernible to human ears. In addition, several attacks on the sound wave were performed; the results showed that the hidden secret data can be retrieved with minimal distortion.

Implementing an Academic Research Social Network: An exploratory study at Applied Science University
Barakat, Samer
Online social networks presented a new and versatile medium of communication and collaboration over the Internet. The use of specific social networks that targets a certain audience is becoming more accepted today since interactivity and collaboration between members is secured and limited to specific groups. Academic research is one of the fields that can benefit from online social networks. Applied Science University is the first educational institution in the Middle East to adopted this new technology by creating an Academic Research Social Network for its professors to collaborate on different academic and research fields. But how effective was this new collaboration channel for ASU professors? Did they use the network for sharing research related information and was the exchange as effective as envisioned? An exploratory study of implementing an Academic Research Social Network at applied Science University is presented and discussed. The findings based on analysis of statistical information provided by the web server and the online social network application showed that only a 20% of university professors at ASU joined the network and created their online profiles. The level of awareness of the true value of the online academic research social network was very low. Academic Rank, Specialization, Computer and Internet Literacy in addition to English language skills played a role in adopting this new channel. In conclusion the research presents steps that can be taken to improve the use of this unique social media channel and guidelines for motivating professors are suggested based on the research findings.

WHAT IS LEAN ACCOUNTING?
Aghdaei, Somayeh
The term ‘Lean’ became common during the 1980s and 1990s, due to the book ‘Lean Thinking’. In September 2005, at the Lean Accounting Summit in Detroit, co-sponsored by AME, the definition of Lean Accounting and the description of Principles, Practices and Tools of Lean Accounting were documented. In fact, lean manufacturing, is a complete business system including an advanced manufacturing techniques that fully combines the just-in-time (JIT), total quality management (TQM), total preventive maintenance (TPM), Value Engineering (VE), and Target Costing. Lean Accounting seeks to reduce the steps in the implementation process, to eliminate standard prices to actual prices, and to stop the expense allocations. Also, the lean control operation focuses on performance measurement system and emphasizes the social and behavioral controls.

Culture and its Role in the Volatile Environment of Knowledge and Creative Age in View of Crisis
Tajtakova, Maria
Olejarova, Maria
We live in the Knowledge Age, which is based on the implementation of knowledge for the further development. In addition, in the last decade a new phenomenon was highlighted – the Creative Age (Florida, 2002), in which the creative labour has been recognized as a vital force for the future development. In view of culture there is a certain antagonism between the advocates of these two approaches. However, Kelemen et al. (2007) point out the unprecedented intersections between culture & the arts, the science & research and information technologies resulting into a new space – so called cyberculture. But how does the continuing recession change our view of the role of culture in the nowadays world? Recent studies have shown (Keegan, 2008; Tajtakova, 2012) that people do not abandon cultural participation in times of crisis. Moreover, Kloudová (2010) explicitly suggests that the way out of crisis lies in the new style of life where the consumption of spiritual assets prevails over the struggle for material property. The aim of this paper is to discuss different facets of the role of culture in a volatile environment in the era of knowledge and creative economy with a particular regard to the crisis.

During the recent decades, using expert systems has been developed in a vast level in all sectors of human being life, in particular in the field of medicine. The main objective of this research was to design an expert system for diagnosis all types of diabetes. After data acquisition and designing a rule-based expert system, this system has been coded with VP_Expert Shell and tested in Shahid Hasheminezhad Teaching Hospital affiliated to Tehran University of Medical Sciences and final expert system has been presented. Findings of this research showed that in many parts of medical science and health care the expert systems have been used effectively. The acquisitive knowledge was represented in the diagrams, charts and tables. The related source code using of the expert system was given and after testing the system, finally its validation has been done. It has been concluded here the expert system can be used effectively in all areas of medical sciences. In particular, in terms of vast number diabetics throughout the world, the expert system can be highly helpful for the patients. These patients in many cases are not aware of their disease and how to control it. In addition, some of these patients do not access to the physicians during necessary times. Therefore, such a system can provide necessary information about the indications and diagnosis. Since this expert system gathers its knowledge from several medical specialists, the system has a broader scope and can be more helpful to the patients -- in comparison to just one physician.

A Perspective for the Education of Business Management: Implementation of Internet-Based Learning as a Type of Adult Education
KOMŞU, Ufuk
As widely stated, the business administration in the terms of both a field of study and profession is sharply affected by global socio-economical conditions and cultural interactions on which are generated through all societies’ toward each other. This leads to place the business activities and enterprises(with all of basic functions and organizational goals) at the centre of whole social occasions although they seem only economy-based(Mucuk, 2003). Thus, the human and information technologies are the fundamentals of such structure that requires constant development and perfection.
It can be said that, in the period of rapid globalization since the 1980’s, the socio-economical and technological factors that fastened by the concept of market economy caused many tragical changes(both positive and negative) in social areas including education and learning facilities(Şaylan, 1999; Timisi, 2003; Sayılan, 2006; Merriam, 2008). In such an age of re-designings and re-buildings, there are main characteristics described and inscribed for social and educational dimensions in the contemporary world of globalization. For instance, re-exploring and rising of “lifelong learning” in response to incompetency of formal education systems and rapid growth and widely implementation of information Technologies and mass communicational affects on societies(in the terms of global village and information society)might be regarded as ongoing significant issues(Tekin, 1996; Timisi, 2003).
At the learning and education dimensions of that era, as a consequence of both technological opportunities and political tendencies, lifelong learning and adult educational philosophies have emerged and gained importance. Through the characteristics and principles of lifelong learning(without limitations of time and space; without school and teacher; at any time and anywhere; problem and demand-focused,…etc.)philosophy and in concordance with basic assumptions of adult education which regards adulthood’s typical requirements and capabilities as main learning incomes(self direction, problem based, past experiences, readiness to learn,…etc.), there have been new learning and education approaches developed(Okçabol, 1996; Tekin, 1996; Merriam, 2008).
From the point of technological and educational development, after the general improvement of information technologies and mass communicational innovations, it might be stated that the computer-based life and internet-based environments resulted in new dimensions for the approach of distance education. Thus, the distance educational basics have become one of the main instruments of adult education. Within this framework, in this paper, the technique of literatural review has been applied. After discussing the development of information and communication technologies, the distance education systems’structure which is related to adult educational requirements has been described.
Finally, web-based information and learning instruments and implementations’ components and its posibble benefits and downsides have beens tated. As a result of discussions, it has been argued that due to defficiency of formal educational systems and the necessity of lifelong learning activities, (as an output of contemporary information and communication technologies) the web-based learning and education models may fulfil variable and everlasting learning and educational demands which come from socio-economically active and ready to learn(everlearning) youngs and adults(Erkunt ve Akpınar, 2002; Miser, 2005;Odabaş, 2011; Aktürk ve diğerleri, 2011).

The Impact of Prophet Muhammad’s Misconceived Sunnah on the Traditional Muslim’s Lifestyle in Tripoli, Lebanon
Kebbi, Sadika
Within Lebanon, the Northern region has been seen as a sanctuary for Islamic extremism, ignorance, and females’ oppression. The Northerners’ efforts to attract other Lebanese citizens to Tripoli, known as the second capital of the Lebanon, have proven to be a failure due to the notorious reputation of the city. Yet, despite being touted as the citadel of extremism, Tripoli remains essential to the tourism economy and provides the fundamentals for the needy. Tripoli lacks the moderate religious education to attract tourists and especially other Lebanese citizens from different areas of the country. This study, bridging Muhammad’s teachings (hadith or ‘saying’, and his life example, Sunnah) and their implementation, explores the contradiction of being symbolically valorized while remaining socially wrongly put into practice.
This quantitative study describes and analyzes the perspectives of Sunna Muslims in Tripoli, Lebanon, regarding the influence of the misinterpreted or orally transmitted Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on the ordinary Muslims’ daily life, their families, and in particular on their women in Tripoli, Lebanon. The research design involves “in depth phenomenological interviews” (Seidman, 1991) and observations involving a sample composed of three Tripolian families, each one from a different social background: lower class, middle class and upper class. The research will have implications for Muslims who want to make a positive difference in implementation, and interpretations of the Sunnah and Shari’a or Islamic law.

The formation of attitude on music of teenagers, differences and similarities of music, fine arts and media arts, influence of written text and new computer technologies on our visual thinking are analyzing in this article. There are analyzing music as a part of general culture, the importance of new technologies of music creation and retransmission towards a positive attitude to music of teenagers in this article. Music as a part of our social environment experienced a long and complicated way of development. Born as a system functioning on emotional basis and supplementing speech, it increasingly establishes itself on the list of bought/sold goods. Exceptionally intelligent approach to music and emergence of new technologies in the 20th century led to the formation of popular music genre and its wide spreading in the adolescent’s list of values. For purpose to analyze influence of such situation on preferences of teenagers there is analyzing results of empirical research where participated 360 students of comprehensive schools of Lithuania. There is analyzing possibility of formation of specific music language.

A Novel Frequency Hopping Scheme for Secure and Reliable Communication Systems
Itani, Wassim
Societies nowadays are far more dependent on technology mediated communication than before. The increasing importance of information and communication has brought with it an attempt by the military and other powerful organizations to maintain their dominance by asserting control over communication. Secure communication has grown to be vitally important (ictregulationtoolkit.org).
This paper studies a novel frequency hopping schema that assures secure transmission of real and non-real data transmission. The paper proposes the usage of chaotic functions, logistic mapping and tent mapping, in addition to matrix operations in order to define hopping sequences. A tree algorithm is used in order to combine the above generated frequencies. The paper proposes a novel system that increases the complexity of existing algorithms and makes it very hard to predict using a frequency analyzer. The paper forms a solid ground to a secure Radio Frequency (RF) communication that can be used in real-life applications that seek security in their communications such as military applications.

Al Muala, Ayed
With the increasing competition in a dynamic environment, competitive advantage can be very important to achieve better performance and better results eventually. The traditional four dimensions of competitive advantage are: Cost, Time, Quality, and Flexibility. The main objective of this study is to investigate the impact of innovation on realizing the competitive advantage in the banking sector in Jordan. The impact of innovation on each of the competitive advantage’s dimensions is tested through the statistical package for social science (SPSS). Reliability analysis, descriptive statistics, and regression analyses were performed. The results illustrated that innovation has a direct positive impact on competitive advantage through its dimensions (time, quality, cost, and flexibility) and that banks should support innovation in all aspects of business and operations. Conclusion, recommendation, and future research avenues were provided.

FOREIGN TRADE AND ECONOMIC GROWTH IN NIGERIA: AN EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS
KEHINDE, ATOYEBI
JUBRIL, AKINDE
FELIX, ADEKUNJO
EDUN, FEMI
This study empirically examine the impact of international trade on economic growth in Nigeria from 1970-2010. Being a time series data, to avoid spurious regression result, the first step was to test for stationary of the data by using Phillips Peron unit root test. Then Johansen (1988) technique was used to establish if the non-stationary variable are cointegrated. The result of stationary and normality test reveals that the model is fairly well specified and could be used for policy analysis. Empirical investigations reveal that three variables are statistically significant at 5% and these variables are export, foreign direct investment and exchange rate and they are positively related to real GDP while other variables such as import, inflation rate, openness exert a negative influence on real GDP. The study demonstrates that increase participation in global trade helps Nigeria to reap static and dynamic benefit of international trade despite non conformity of the coefficient of the openness. Both international trade volume and trade structure towards high technology export result in positively effect on Nigeria economy. We therefore recommend that the government should design appropriate strategy by diversifying the economy through export promotion, stimulating foreign direct investment and exchange rate stability in order to boost productivity of Nigeria economy by raising the standard of living of the citizens.

Many Web 2.0 applications were intended for social interaction and networking among people. Little research has been conducted on the use of Web 2.0 application in Human Resource Recruitment in Jordan. The recruitment process involves several tasks that needs interaction between the candidate and the recruiter. Our study focus on the use of Web 2.0 Social applications in Human Resource recruitment. Online social networks are among the leading Web 2.0 application that are used by HR professionals in finding the right candidate for the job. Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Skype and LinkedIn are the major applications sought by recruiters to gather the needed information. But how effective is this new medium for HR professionals? How did they use the Web 2.0 applications in researching potential candidates? And which application is used most among other social networks. An exploratory study is presented and discussed. The findings based on statistical analysis of information provided by HR professional showed that only a 15% of organizations use the technology. The level of awareness of the true value of the online social network in recruitment was very low.

Influential Relationship Between Human Resources Management Practices (HRMP) and Organizational Performance: A Study on Five-Star Hotels in Jordan
Abou-Moghli, Azzam
Abo-Rumman, As'sd
This study examines one of the important topics in the hotel services sector, that is human resources and the extent of their influence on the organizational performance in five-star hotels in the Capital City of Amman in Jordan. The study dealt with (170) workers in these hotels to underline the influential relationship between human resources management practices (HRMP) and organizational performance. Reliability analysis, descriptive statistics, and multiple regression analysis were performed. The study concluded that a large portion of changes in performance are ascribed to practices of human resources management of Jordanian hotels. The most influential dimensions in the organizational performance were: selection and placement policy, performance appraisal, and finally the work teams' policy. Meanwhile, the influences of other human resources practices varied proportional to the performance indicators duly established for this study.

Islam, Jahid
Uddin, Jasim
Dye Sensitzed solar cells (DSSC) has drawn attention as an alternative to the silicon based solar cells due to their low fabrication cost and reasonably high efficiency. This paper presents an approach on the development of DSSC and the photoelectrochemical effect and conversion efficiency available natural dye sensitized Titanium dioxide (TiO2) photoelectrode with respect to acid treatment of coating formulation. Acid treatment on TiO2 paste was observed using an organic acid (citric acid) and an inorganic acid (nitric acid) considering a base natural dye (red spinach). Optimal concentration of these acids (organic and inorganic) was determined by cell performance. Five different natural dyes were used as sensitizers of DSSC and their performance was observed considering photoelectrochemical output and UV-visible absorption using optimized acid concentrations. Citric Acid treated cells with red spinach dye as sensitizer produced the best performance with 1mAcm-2 current density with 505mV potential. It was found that DSSC showed better photovoltaic performance and higher conversion efficiency when the TiO2 paste was treated by organic acid than inorganic acid and red spinach dye proved to be the best sensitizer.

The Impact of Construction Sector on Palestinian Economy - Case Study : ( Gaza Strip)
El-namrouty, Khalil
The construction sector has a significant impact on Palestinian economy and the tool through which a society achieves its goal of economic growth and development. Share of the construction sector in Palestine GDP and construction sector VAD has fluctuated throughout the study period specially for Gaza Strip. The performance of construction sector is affected by some independent variables, such as, investment, foreign aid and other variable. Performance of the construction sector will affect GDP growth rate and the share of construction sector VAD in Palestine GDP. Results of time series data analysis, show that, first, there is a significant effect of investment and foreign aid on Palestine construction sector, and therefore the sector has a positive effects on GDP and value added . Second, Gaza Strip results shows that, there is a significant effect of investment on construction and very limited effect of foreign aid on construction sector in Gaza Strip.

APPLICATION OF THE JOINING PILE FOR FOUNDATIONS ON EXPANSIV CLAYS AND ROCKS
Jaremski, Jan
The expansive clays occupy about 20 per cent of a building area in the United States. Similarly the problem is also significant in Africa, India, Asia, Australia and partly in Europe. Expansive clays are present on many areas of the hot temperate zones, also in many enclaves of soils and rock eluvia containing minerals belonging to the groups of montmorillonite, illite etc. Identification of expansive clays ability and methods of its investigations were described in early papers Jaremski J.:(1994),Jaremski J.:(1995),O’Neill, M.W., N. Poormoayed 1980. Losses caused by soil swelling in building industry are comparable to losses caused by environment. Usability of the joining pile on the expansive soils gives an important advantage. So-called joining piles represent a new idea of piling where the basic part of the pile (the base of the high-diameter pile) is located at the depth of the foundation occurrence. Depending on the ground conditions, in many pile structures the basic part of loading is carried by the pile base. The joining pile is an example of such piles. It is a combined foundation including the base made in the soil, and the post elements (a bundle of piles or micropiles) joining the base with the girt. In the case of swelling soils, capacity of the system of piles or micropiles bundle is making a base joining them to make up the role of the anchoring pile. The joining pile has a relatively small lateral surface
There are many reasons for which the received results should be compared with the results of research conducted in other countries as it makes possible to know the geological properties of several kinds of soils. Author compared the properties of many swelling soils and soft rocks. Considering mainly on their origin and mineralogy. The worked-out associations permitted to compare the phenomenon of swelling occurring in different soil media and to also analyze the researches made in various countries and at the same time, to including the exploitation problems of building founded on expansive soils and including the placement
moisture -water content and to determine the value of maximum swelling. The process of swelling occurring in soil and rock media brings about the changes in volume which are the reasons for settlement (shrinkage) or displacement of the foundation upwards (swelling). The recognition of the ability of swelling of some cohesive soils is of great importance for the selection of foundation for building objects and for determining the exploitation conditions of objects and for site planning. The range of swelling should be taken into consideration in order to determine the reasons of cracking and failures of existing buildings. In the rock media and particularly in their weatherings e.g. in marl eluwium, swelling brings about continuous changes in fissures or in spaces between larger rock fragments, exerting an influence on the strength of a medium , and also leads to the continuous variations of the medium which is debris under extreme humidity conditions and which in proper, changes in moisture content, preceded by the periods of drought, becomes similar to cohesive soil. The phenomena of swelling and shrinkage may them bring to the extremal states. First of all it should be stressed, that the phenomenon of swelling occurs only in the aeration zone identified with zone of fluctuation of the level of underground water and foundation layer. It has been explained that there is maximum swelling or soil shrinkage if near the outer surface of the ground soils (or rock weathering) have minerals of distinctly high negative charges montmorillonite, illite, baidelite et. and when the environmental conditions of soil allow moisture to change the essential variations in maximum swelling occurred in the plan area of impended buildings. According to the present world knowledge much has been already done for better understanding of the processes occurring within expansive clays. This problem is, however, considered as an extremely complex one and it seems impossible to forecast and evaluate the subsoil movements (for needs of practical engineering).

Testing and fault tolerance of integrated circuits
Ait Abdelmalek, Ghania.
Ziani, Rezki.
Laghrouchec, Mourad
Today, the technological advances reduce the size of electronic components to the nanometer dimensions. This miniaturization makes manufacturing processes more complex and less reliable. This implies that it becomes very difficult to manufacture a circuit without any defects. Therefore, the manufacturing yield could decline significantly. To improve yield, fault-tolerant structures could be used in the future, with the objective to tolerate manufacturing defects to make more circuits operating. However, the higher expectation of reliability can only be met by more thorough and comprehensive testing of this structure. This paper analyzes the ability of these structures to tolerate manufacturing defects and the conditions to improve the yield. It is also shown that with the help of partitioning techniques the tolerance of TMR structures can be improved and therefore their reliability and manufacturing yield.

Attitudes of Lebanese Adults age 18-22 towards Homosexuality
Assi, Ghenwa
The attitude of Lebanese adults towards homosexuality is examined in this research article. In the past, the only acceptable affiliation was heterosexuality. Nowadays, attitudes towards homosexuality have undergone a tremendous change due to globalization. Participants in the study are 200 college students between the ages of 18-22. The sample was taken from 5 different regions in Lebanon: the north, Beirut, the Bekaa, the south, and the mountain of Lebanon. Participants filled anonymous questionnaires that include statements about their attitudes towards homosexuality, its causes and effects and whether they give homosexuals equal rights. Most participants considered homosexuality to be genetic or due to sexual abuse. Others believe it is due to cultural habits. 10%of the participants consider homosexuality to be a choice and gave homosexuals equal rights. 23 % refused the idea due to religious background. Consequently, results indicate a more positive Lebanese attitude towards homosexuality in urban areas. More male participants than females were positive towards the issue in this study due to cultural factors.

Development of Sustainable Ethics Education in Business: A Framework
ElZein, Heyam
Alameddine, Mira
Recent research has indicated that people can learn ethics and that in their 20s & 30s develop new ethical values and utilize them in their basic problem-solving (Rest as summarized by Velasquez, Andre, Shanks & Mayer, 2012). Yet, concern with ethical behavior in business at the undergraduate and graduate level has grown sharply and has been a point of discussion in the past few years. Although some universities have tried to integrate business ethics courses in the curriculum, but they were not able to implement and empower this issue in an effective way. However, some people argue that trying to teach ethics at the college level comes far too late because ethics are taught through one’s upbringing under the influence of one’s family and peers. The case of Lebanon is not an exception. The purpose of this paper is to establish functional administrative management reforms in favor of teaching ethics and moral responsibilities in students and their communities. This reform should be based on international standards and cultural considerations. This paper argues that fostering ethics education at universities starts with re-establishing course content, instructional method and to question what is and what is not, what practices have to be developed, and what skills have to be acquired. The main intent of this particular intervention program is to determine if ethics education and discussion had a measurable impact on people’s perceptions and whether teaching what is acceptable and what is not acceptable can be combined with preventive measures to create a positive environment encouraging collaborative partnership with constructive ramification towards management of ethical behavior in appropriate and innovative way in the community.

The research examined the extent of pollution by leachate generated from Ijagun dumpsite, Odogbolu Area, Southwestern Nigeria, on the groundwater using electrical resistivity method. Four vertical electrical sounding measurements were taken around the dumpsite, Two on the dumpsite (VES 1/ VES 2), and the other two (VES 3 /VES 4) around the dumpsite (serving as control) using schlumberger array technique. The result obtained interpreted both quantitatively and qualitatively, iterated with WINRESIST software. From the computer output, three curve types were obtained from the field survey (A, H, KHA). There is indication of the presence of the contamination in the VES 1 (layer 2) and VES 2 (layer 2) due to their low resistivity values while there are yet no pollution in VES 3/ VES 4 due to their high resistivity values compare to that of VES 1 and VES 2. The stratigraphy at the dumpsite consisting of Sand, Dry sand and Sandstone which shows that the dumpsite is situated on aquiferous materials that is highly porous and permeable and may aid the free flow of leachate into the groundwater. Therefore, there is need for drinking water quality assessment to determine the suitability of the groundwater for human and industrial consumption.

Framework for Delivery of Quality Education:Examination of quality concepts to inform a framework for improving education quality in St Lucia a member of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean states (OECS)
Caesar, Chryselda
This paper examines quality concepts to inform a framework for the delivery of quality education in one of the organization of eastern Caribbean states, St Lucia. It explores various quality definitions, different quality models, and diverse perspectives on learning organizations in relation to their relevance and usefulness to advise the delivery of education. A conceptual framework that specifically addressed quality control rooted in strong accountability; quality assurance centered on processes; school leadership and school culture is proposed for significant changes and a new dimension for strengthening the delivery of quality education in the region. Quality improvement plans or models are great for debate, they are often seen as necessary, good ideas that infuse passion in workers, but they are hard to implement and even more difficult to sustain due to the organic and complex work environment. However his paper stimulates discussion for a gradual shift focused on a learner centered outcome, underpinned by strong school culture as a new investment for quality education, as we continue to chart the educational direction for St Lucia and the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS).

Perception of Women on Female Genital Mutilations and implications for health communications in Lagos State, Nigeria
B. Tajudeen, ISIAKA
S. Olabisi, YUSUFF
Female Genital cutting is a culture-rooted practice common mainly in developing countries, Middle East, South East and Asia .FGC involves cutting mildly or severely the female genital organs especially two weeks before the adulthood. Type 1 and Type 11 are common in different parts of the world. Type 11 is highest in Egypt and Sudan, while Type I is common in Nigeria. However, the health problems associated with the practice informed the need to find out the perception of women about FGC and examine the most effective communication strategies to fight against it. The sample size for the study was one hundred and fifty –five respondents that were selected through Multi-stage sampling techniques. The major findings show that generally, women have negative perception about FGC, but there is still the belief among the elderly women that FGC checks promiscuity and that it is a noble practice. Communication strategies recommended for appropriate checking of the practice in traditional rural communities in Nigeria are group and interpersonal communication techniques coupled with multi-media and participatory approaches. However, educative programmes that enhance self-learning are viewed as being more effective than mass-media based communication and campaign strategies.

Effects of Bilingualism on Personality, Cognitive and Educational Developments: A Historical Perspective
N. Al-Amri, Majid
From the first half of the 20th century, the question of whether bilingualism affects the individual has been discussed as a topic of essential investigation. Researchers have fallen into two main directions in answering this question. Some researchers claim that bilingualism is a negative phenomenon that has detrimental effects on bilingual. Recently, a number of researchers have produced evidence on the positive side that claim that bilingualism affects cognitive, personality, and educational developments. The study discusses these two views further regarding the three main dimensions. Then the study explains why the two views are so contradictory. The paper concludes that there is no a clear-cut answer for the question of the paper namely, Is bilingualism a problem? However, although a lot of studies are contradictory and each one needs firm methodological grounds recent studies with implementation of advanced research technologies and methods tip the balance in favor of bilingualism.

The aim of this paper is to present a solar energy collection technology by a photovoltaic cell. To present this efficient solar distributed generation system, a dual-axis solar tracker is designed, built and tested. The tracker actively tracks the sun and changes its position accordingly to maximize the power output. The designed tracking system consists of sensors, comparators and microcontroller operated control circuits to drive motors and gear-bearing arrangements with supports and mountings. Two geared stepper motors are used to move the solar panel so that sun’s beam is able to remain aligned with the solar panel. The built system has a calculated power gain of 52.78% compared to a static solar panel.

Key strategies and issues of positioning: A review of past studies
Prasad Chowdhury, Partha
Despite the significant role of positioning on developing competitive advantage it has been noticed that, in the recent academic literature few studies highlight the key strategies to positioning a product/brand successfully. This study tries to fill in this gap by highlighting the key positioning strategies along with some guidelines for the marketers for formulating effective positioning of their brand in the market. A good number of prior research studies on market positioning of brand/product between the years 1958 to 2010 are reviewed with a view to prepare this study. Though the study of positioning reveals that firms use different positioning concepts but most studies highlighted the use of product attributes, product categories and competitors as main ways for positioning. This study is based upon the previous studies which are mainly based on the Western context and hence findings may not be directly generalized everywhere and concludes with suggestions for further research. This literature review integrates the findings of the prior studies and focuses on highlighting key positioning strategies along with some key points that need to remember during positioning and suggests marketing practitioners some guidelines to develop effective positioning strategies for achieving sustainable competitive advantage.
