The Impact of Modern Healthcare Management Practices on Job Performance Efficiency in Emergency Departments

Abdulmajeed Hussain Hassen Alghayt

Abstract

This study examines the impact of modern healthcare management practices on job performance efficiency among healthcare professionals working in emergency departments (EDs). Modern management approaches—including participatory leadership, performance evaluation systems, continuous professional development, and teamwork-oriented management—have been widely recognized as key drivers of workforce efficiency in high-pressure healthcare environments (Robbins & Judge, 2021; Ginter et al., 2018). Conducted in hospitals in Taif, Saudi Arabia, the study employed a descriptive–analytical research design and collected data from 357 emergency healthcare workers using a structured questionnaire.

The findings reveal a statistically significant positive relationship between the adoption of modern management practices and enhanced job performance efficiency, consistent with previous empirical evidence in emergency care settings (Davis & Mohammed, 2021; Johnson & Hall, 2023). However, limitations were identified in the consistency of performance evaluation systems and managerial support tools. The study recommends strengthening evidence-based management practices and leadership development to improve emergency care efficiency and quality.
