Alex Afremov

Abstract

The standard of living is an important soc. category, which determines the structure of needs and their satisfaction by man. Human needs are manifold. Together with the material needs are spiritual and social. Need is a need that has taken a special form in accordance with the cultural level and personality of the individual. Because of this, the set of needs of any person is different: some go in for sports, others do not, some devote their leisure time to visiting theaters, others spend their time at the TV or in clubs. Some can only buy domestic cars, while others prefer foreign cars. In order to determine the degree of satisfaction of these needs, the consumption of goods and services is compared with their minimum and rational use. Consequently, the standard of living is the provision of the population with the necessary material goods and services, the achieved level of their consumption and the degree of satisfaction of reasonable (rational) needs .
