The Relation of Organizational Culture in Supporting Knowledge Management Application in the Private Sector

Abstract


Through reviewing and understanding the importance of Organizational Cultural (OC) and itsrole in successful application of knowledge management (KM), this paper is aimed to build a modelconnecting OC factors with KM processes. In order to achieve aim of this study, the researcher used themixed method through analysis method of the content for surveying related studies, which are connectedOC with KM. For finding a list of OC factors connecting with KM processes, researcher designed asuggested model to connect those variables with each other. Then in the coming study, researcher will useDelphi method to establish a questionnaire to measure items of this model to be applied in anyorganization in the private sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. As this sector interest in applying KMmore than in the governmental sector, results of the current study found 17 OC factors, which are dividedinto three main dimensions: individual, group and organizational dimension. There are also three KMprocesses are found, which are: knowledge create, knowledge transfer and knowledge share. OCdimensions are related to cover each of them one of the organization components, so the organizationsneed to know those dimensions to be used in compliance with the organization environment and to help inKM application by being interest in the personal aspects of the staff with finding positive environmentwithin the organization, in the light of organizational and administrative structure supporting allorganization sides.
