Abstract

The aim of this research was to study the effect of salt stress on seeds germination , plants growth and chlorophyll contents in two Libyan cultivars of barley. In germination seeds of both cvs of  barley is more tolerance to 100mM of NaCL. However the  roots length and shoots length were higher at 0mM and 25mM than other treatments in both cvs. Chlorophyll contents and carotene were higher at 100mM in  Wadyelhaey than Baledy cv. In conclusion most results showed the Wadyelhaey cv more tolerance to salt than Baledy cv
